Our pediatric protocols are provided and supported by Barton D. Schmitt, MD, the renowned expert and pioneer in pediatric telephone triage. Our adult protocols were developed by emergency and internal medicine physician, David A. Thompson, MD, in partnership with Dr. Schmitt. Both protocol sets follow an identical structure and philosophy, resulting in a synergistic approach that reduces the length of calls.
Doctor Barton Schmitt and Doctor David Thompson also author a monthly bulletin, Clinical Update for Telephone Triage Nurses. This contains useful information about hot health topics in the media and important updates to the triage protocols.
LVM has a relationship with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) for use of their 600+ patient education topics within the Centaurus software and WebLink products. The AAFP developed this library (also known as familydoctor.org) as a robust collection of patient handouts for their member physicians to use in their practices.
